No. Just open the app and start. There's no sign-up, email, or password. Everything you create is saved on your device.
They're stored locally on your device and never uploaded to us. Only you can see them. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Create a new document, then bring in your text any way you like: take a photo, choose a photo or PNG from your library, upload a PDF, or copy and paste the text directly. Text is extracted from files on your device; nothing is uploaded.
The free tier includes 13 built-in documents (the ten acts of Hamlet, The Gettysburg Address, Psalm 23, and Mary Had a Little Lamb) with all levels available, plus one upload of your own text of up to 100 words. Each document allows 3 attempts per level; after the third attempt, that level locks.
There are three ways to unlock more. Yearly Access ($34.99 per year) is an auto-renewable subscription with full access to everything. Lifetime ($99.99, one-time) unlocks full access forever with no renewal. A Single Document Pass ($9.99, one-time) unlocks one document of your choosing. Pricing is always shown inside the app before you buy.
Open the app, go to the purchase screen, and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase, your Yearly Access subscription or Lifetime purchase will be restored. The Single Document Pass is a one-time consumable and can't be restored after a device wipe or an Apple ID change; that's by design.
On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Memory Lab, and tap Cancel. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside the app. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Because your content lives only on your device and we never receive a copy, we can't recover it for you. Keeping your device backups (such as iCloud Backup) enabled is the best protection. If you deleted the app, restoring from a backup that predates the deletion may bring your data back.
Memory Lab runs on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 15 or later (iPadOS 15 on iPad). That covers iPhone 6s and newer, and iPads back to the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.
