Memory Lab
Memory Lab is built to run entirely on your device. The scripts and texts you memorize never leave your phone, are never uploaded to us, and are not readable by anyone but you.
Memory Lab ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Jorel O'Dell. You can reach us any time at support@arteest.co.
Everything you create in Memory Lab (the documents and scripts you import or paste, and your practice progress) is saved in local storage on your device. It stays on that device and is included in your normal encrypted device backups (for example iCloud Backup) if you have those enabled. All documents, text, and memorization materials remain 100% local: we never see, access, collect, or store your documents or uploaded content on any server, and we have no technical ability to do so.
We rely exclusively on the standard, aggregated App Analytics that Apple provides through App Store Connect. These are anonymous, aggregate statistics (such as downloads, crash rates, and feature engagement) that Apple compiles only from users who have opted in to share analytics with developers. We review them to understand feature usage and app reliability and to improve the app over time. We do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, ad networks, or user tracking tools, and we cannot identify any individual user from these reports.
During onboarding you can choose to share an email address if you would rather get product updates that way. This is entirely optional; every feature of the app works without it. If you provide one, it is used only to send you MemoryLab product updates. It is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone, it is not used for advertising, and it is not linked to your study data, your device, or any other identity. You can have it deleted at any time by emailing support@arteest.co.
Beyond the optional email above, we do not collect your name, contacts, location, photos, or any personally identifying information. If a future version adds an optional feature that changes this (for example, a cloud sync account for the web version), we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any data leaves your device.
Memory Lab offers optional paid upgrades: a yearly subscription, a one-time lifetime unlock, and a one-time single-document pass. All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We may receive anonymous, aggregate sales figures from Apple that cannot be tied back to an individual user.
When you import a script from a PDF, a PNG, a photo you take, or an image from your photo library, the text is extracted on your device. The file and the extracted text are not uploaded to us or to any third party.
If you use a practice mode that listens to you recite (where available), audio is processed on your device for the purpose of checking your recall and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by us.
Memory Lab does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it is suitable for general audiences.
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it: you can delete any document inside the app, and deleting the app removes all of its stored data from your device. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase on our side, but you can contact us with any question.
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, note it inside the app.
